Eklavya, the ever-great Tribal Archer had to offer his right thumb at the feet of Dronacharya, just to keep Arjuna ahead of him, because the latter was from a royal family. This deprivation went on for centuries. Tribals were deliberately kept out of the ambit of socio-economic development.
Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is striving to wipe out that discrepancy. It is trying to empower this deprived segment of society by providing quality education so as to bring them within the fold of mainstream development.
This is a Government sponsored project launched as a part of the Scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with the concerned State Governments.
Situated in Salgadih village of Tamar Block of Ranchi District, 55 km away from the State Capital on the NH 33, this residential school was ingugurated in the year 2006 by the then Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Mr. Arjun Munda and started functioning as a Govt-run School. After some time, however, the management and administration of the said School was entrusted to Kerala Public School Trust vide an MOU signed on 23rd October 2007 by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner on behalf of the Welfare Department, Govt. of Jharkhand and the Chairman, Kerala Public School Trust.
Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.
